βI truly donβt think I could have gotten through this test without Dr. Jo. I had a really difficult time with this exam, and what she did for me went far beyond tutoring or simply helping me learn the material.
One of the biggest obstacles I faced throughout this process was honestly myself. I had built up so much anxiety and so many mental barriers around this test that there were times when the material wasnβt even the hardest part- it was getting myself to believe that I was capable of doing it. Dr. Jo helped me work through those obstacles in a way that I donβt think anyone else could have. She was there for me during some of the hardest moments of this entire process, and I always felt like she genuinely cared about me and my success. It never felt like I was just another student she was tutoring. She wanted me to succeed almost as badly as I wanted it for myself, and that meant more to me than I can put into words.
As for the actual tutoring sessions, the Chiropractic Boards and Beyond packet completely changed how I studied and understood the material. She helped me understand topics that I felt like school had breezed over but ended up being heavily tested on. More importantly, she never taught me to just memorize information. She taught me to actually understand the process behind each topic, why things happen, how they connect, and how to work through them when a question is worded tricky or differently than what you studied.
And somehow, she makes even the most overwhelming information memorable. Between her funny sayings, stories, and ways of remembering things, there were things I genuinely could not forget even if I tried, haha. If I didnβt understand something the first time, she never made me feel bad about it. She would explain it a completely different way, and then another way if she needed to, until it finally clicked.
There is truly no one I would trust more to help someone get through the incredibly stressful process of chiropractic boards. Dr. Jo is an amazing tutor and an amazing chiropractor, but more importantly, she is an incredibly kind and caring human being. She believed in me during the moments when I struggled to believe in myself, and I will forever be grateful for the role she played in getting me through this.
